Beyond terpenes and cannabinoids — the flavonoids unique to this plant and what cultivation conditions actually encourage their expression.
The conversation around cannabis biochemistry has been dominated by cannabinoids and terpenes for good reason — they're the compounds with the most immediately measurable effects. But the flavonoids unique to this plant, particularly the cannflavins, represent a largely unexplored dimension of what cultivation practice can influence.
Cannflavins A and B are flavones found nowhere else in the plant kingdom. Their expression is cultivation-sensitive in ways we're only beginning to document systematically.
For growers using living soil, this is meaningful. The same microbially-active root zone that improves terpene and anthocyanin expression appears to create the nutritional conditions that favor cannflavin synthesis.
